You are not imagining it

Your store looks fine. Your traffic is OK. So why aren't more visitors becoming customers?

Most online stores hit a point where the traffic numbers look fine, but the sales line stays flat. Usually it is not a traffic problem. It is the path the visitor walks once they get to the site, and the friction stacked along it. A few of the patterns we see most:

Visitors land on a product page and bounce in seconds.

They clicked the ad for the product, but the page does not show them what they came for in the first viewport. Mobile is usually worse than desktop.

Carts get filled but never reach the "Pay" button.

The cart-to-checkout step is where most stores leak revenue. Shipping costs revealed late, account creation forced, payment options missing, friction at the worst possible moment.

Mobile conversion sits at half of desktop and you do not know why.

On mobile the buy button is usually below the fold, the form fields are awkward to type into, and there is no fast Apple Pay or Google Pay path. Small problems compound.

You are paying for traffic that converts at 1% when 2.5% is in reach.

Every percentage point on your conversion rate is leverage on every ad dollar you have already spent. Most stores we audit can lift one to two points just from the obvious fixes.

What a finding looks like

Same format we deliver to paying clients.

Below is one finding pulled from the actual interactive report template. You get five of these in your snapshot, plus a short cover and recommendation summary.

The “Add to cart” button is below the fold on mobile

ImpactHigh
EffortLow
Time0.5 - 1 hour

What we found

On the iPhone 17 we tested, the Add to cart button on your top-selling product page sits 142 pixels below the fold. Visitors have to scroll past three blocks of copy and the size selector before they see the buy button at all.

Why it matters

Mobile shoppers form their buy-or-leave decision in the first two seconds. If the action they came for is not visible, the page reads as browsing content rather than a product page. We typically see this single issue account for 8 to 14 percent of mobile add-to-cart loss.

Our recommendation

Lift the price, the size selector and the Add to cart button into the first viewport on mobile. Push the product description and reviews down. This is a CSS-only change that takes roughly 0.5 to 1 hour of developer time.

Questions

Before you fill it in.

Q

Why is it free?

Most of our work is recurring retainer work for online stores. New retainer clients typically start by asking what is wrong with the site, so we built the snapshot into the front of our pipeline as the standard answer. A portion of stores that get a snapshot eventually come on board with us, and those retainers cover the time we spend on the rest.

Q

How can you deliver something this detailed for free?

The format is scoped on purpose. Five fixes, heuristic-led, no analytics access required. That keeps the cost of producing one snapshot low enough that we can give it away without it eating into the retainer pipeline that pays for it.

Q

What do you need from me?

Your store URL, your email, your name. The platform and revenue questions help us tune the report so the findings are relevant to your reality.

Q

What if my store is on a platform you do not list?

Pick Other ecommerce on the form. We have audited Squarespace, BigCommerce, Magento, headless Next.js, custom Shopify themes. The heuristics translate across platforms. If you are pre-launch or mid-rebuild, reply to our confirmation email and we will tell you whether a snapshot is useful at this stage.

Q

What if I just want the fixes done?

That is the Deep Dive plus a retainer or a one-off sprint. Tick the Deep Dive box on the form and we will include a proposal with your snapshot.

Q

Do I have to be technical to understand it?

No. The snapshot is written for business owners. The recommendations are concrete enough that you or whoever maintains your store can hand them straight to a developer when you are ready to ship.

Q

Will you follow up?

Yes, once. A few days after we send the snapshot we check in to see whether there are questions or interest in a Deep Dive. If you are not interested it stops there. If you are, we talk about it on your terms.

Q

How long does it actually take?

48 hours from submission. Often faster. If we are going to be slower than that we tell you up front.
